Margarida Monten\u00ff is an aerial acrobat who works between circus and the performing arts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She seeks a transdisciplinary approach within her research, working through states of intimacy, strength and vulnerability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2024, she received the Young Artists Award \u2013 Coliseu do Porto Ageas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In November 2023, she premiered \u201cBLUE<\/a>\u201d, a co-production Mostra Estufa – Companhia Erva Daninha and Teatro Municipal do Porto, which premiered at Teatro do Campo Alegre and was presented at Teatro Virg\u00ednia, in Torres Novas, at Casa das Artes in Famalic\u00e3o, as part of the Vaudeville Rendez-Vous Festival, at the RASCUNHO Festival, in \u00c9vora and at Ponto C, in Penafiel, Teatro Municipal da Lous\u00e3, Teatro Stephens, in Marinha Grande, Teatro S\u00e1 da Bandeira, in Sanatr\u00e9m and which will continue in circulation with performance dates planned for 2025 and 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2023 she performed for Ballet Contempor\u00e2neo do Norte and the Portuguese Philharmonic Orchestra in the show \u201cAlba<\/a>\u201d, premiered at the Teatro Municipal da Guarda and presented at the FIMUV – International Music Festival, at Europarque in Santa Maria da Feira.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2022, in partnership with Carminda Soares, she created \u201cSimulacro<\/a>\u201d, a project premiered at Teatro do Campo Alegre, with a co-production by Teatro das Figuras\/Teatro Municipal do Porto and Inst\u00e1vel – Centro Coreogr\u00e1fico, presented at Centro Cultural de Bel\u00e9m, as part of the Cumplicidades Festival, in the Showcase Arts Portugal of Outdoor Arts, in conjunction with the international event of the Circostrada Network, DIVE#2. LEME Festival, in \u00cdlhavo, at CineTeatro Marques Duque, in M\u00e9rtola, at Pax-J\u00falia in Beja, at Teatro Aveirense, in Aveiro, at Theatro Circo, in Braga, at Cine Teatro Ant\u00f3nio Lamoso in Santa Maria da Feira, at Cine Teatro Avenida as part of the Y Festival, Arquip\u00e9lago, on the island of S\u00e3o Miguel as part of the PARALELO Festival, among others, with more than 20 national performances in different contexts, as well as international performances in Geneva, Switzerland, Galicia and Spain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2021 she participated in the project \u201cDuetos do Gerador\u201d in partnership with Pedro Branco, in the creation of \u201cOrdesa<\/a>\u201d, a collection of duets between improvisation and real-time composition, an in-situ project designed to frame architecture, movement and musical composition in a single encounter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2020 she participated in the creation of \u201cPor um Fio<\/a>\u201d by Daniel Seabra for Companhia Erva Daninha, presented at the Contradan\u00e7a Festival, Arte Non Stop – M\u00e9rtola, Portas do Sol, Festival Onda de Ver\u00e3o, Teatro Virg\u00ednia, Festival Desconcentra, Teatro Municipal do Porto, SESC (Brazil), among others, with more than 40 national and international performances. In the same year she participated in \u201c(Com)Sequ\u00eancia<\/a>\u201d by Circo Ca\u00f3tico, a circus piece for architecture, presented at the LEME Festival, Mercado das Torcatas and Chap\u00e9us de Lisboa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2019 she performed in \u201cThe Big Show SEF<\/a>\u201d, by Miguel Pereira, for the celebration of the Serralves Foundation’s 30th anniversary, presented at Serralves em Festa 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2020, she has been a recurring presence at the Quintas de Leitura<\/a> (Reading Thursdays) at the Teatro Municipal do Porto, highlighting the editions \u201cLet’s release the rhythm to the tides\u201d, \u201cThe astronaut got married there\u201d, \u201cThere are still clocks at the bottom of the sea\u201d and \u201cThe poem went to the eye doctor\u201d curated by Jo\u00e3o Gesta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also collaborated as a performer with Vanda R. Rodrigues, in \u201cPaisagens In\u00fateis<\/a>\u201d, premiered in 2024 at Centro Cultural Vila Flor and Tetro Viriato; for Companhia Erva Daninha in \u201cRecanto<\/a>s\u201d, a site-specific for the opening of Trengo – Festival de Circo do Porto in 2021, at Jardim do Covelo; with Grandpa’s Lab and Liliana Garcia in \u201cMoura<\/a>\u201d, presented at Biblioteca Municipal de Chaves in 2019; with Teatro Musgo in the show \u201cBreu<\/a>\u201d presented at TeCA – Teatro Carlos Alberto in 2018, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Graduated from Escola Profissional de Artes e Of\u00edcios do Espet\u00e1culo \u2013 Chapit\u00f4 and from Salto \u2013 International Circus School, her choreographic practice takes a transdisciplinary approach to the investigation of movement and language, defending an open view of what circus can be.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Em 2023 \u00e9 interprete para o Ballet Contempor\u00e2neo do Norte e para a Orquestra Filarm\u00f3nica Portuguesa no espet\u00e1culo \u201cAlba<\/a>\u201d, estreado no Teatro Municipal da Guarda e apresentado no FIMUV – Festival Internacional de M\u00fasica, no Europarque em Santa Maria da Feira. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Em 2022 cria, em parceria com Carminda Soares, \u201cSimulacro<\/a>\u201d, projeto estreado no Teatro do Campo Alegre, com uma coprodu\u00e7\u00e3o do Teatro das Figuras\/Teatro Municipal do Porto e Inst\u00e1vel – Centro Coreogr\u00e1fico, apresentado no Centro Cultural de Bel\u00e9m, enquandrado dentro do Festival Cumplicidades, no Showcase Arts Portugal do Outdoor Arts, em cruzamento com o evento internacional da Circostrada Network, DIVE#2., e o Festival LEME, em \u00cdlhavo, no CineTeatro Marques Duque, em M\u00e9rtola, no Pax-J\u00falia em Beja, no Teatro Aveirense, em Aveiro, no Theatro Circo, em Braga, no Cine Teatro Ant\u00f3nio Lamoso em Santa Maria da Feira, no Cine Teatro Avenida inserido dentro do Festival Y, Arquip\u00e9lago, na ilha de S\u00e3o Miguel dentro do Festival PARALELO, entre outros, contando com mais de 20 apresenta\u00e7\u00f5es nacionais em diferentes contextos, bem como apresenta\u00e7\u00f5es internacionais entre Genebra, na Su\u00ed\u00e7a, Galiza e Espanha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participa em 2021 no projeto \u201cDuetos do Gerador\u201d em parceria com Pedro Branco, na cria\u00e7\u00e3o de \u201cOrdesa<\/a>\u201d uma cole\u00e7\u00e3o de duetos entre improvisa\u00e7\u00e3o e composi\u00e7\u00e3o em tempo real, um projeto in-situ pensado para enquadrar a arquitetura, movimento e composi\u00e7\u00e3o musical num s\u00f3 encontro. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Em 2020 participa na cria\u00e7\u00e3o de \u201cPor um Fio<\/a>\u201d de Daniel Seabra para a Companhia Erva Daninha apresentado no Festival Contradan\u00e7a, Arte Non Stop – M\u00e9rtola, Portas do Sol, Festival Onda de Ver\u00e3o, Teatro Virg\u00ednia, Festival Desconcentra, Teatro Municipal do Porto, SESC (Brasil), entre outros que contou com mais de 40 apresenta\u00e7\u00f5es nacionais e internacionais. No mesmo ano participa em \u201c(Com)Sequ\u00eancia<\/a>\u201d de Circo Ca\u00f3tico, uma pe\u00e7a de circo para arquitetura, apresentado no Festival LEME, no Mercado das Torcatas e nos Chap\u00e9us de Lisboa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apresenta em 2019 \u201cThe Big Show SEF<\/a>\u201d, de Miguel Pereira, para a comemora\u00e7\u00e3o dos 30 anos da Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Serralves, apresentado no Serralves em Festa 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participa desde 2020 recorrentemente nas Quintas de Leitura<\/a>, do Teatro Municipal do Porto, destacando as edi\u00e7\u00f5es “Vamos soltar o ritmo \u00e0s mar\u00e9s”, “O astronauta casou-se por l\u00e1”, \u201cAinda h\u00e1 rel\u00f3gios no fundo do mar\u201d e \u201co poema foi ao m\u00e9dico dos olhos\u201d com curadoria por Jo\u00e3o Gesta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Colaborou ainda enquanto int\u00e9rprete com Vanda R. Rodrigues, em “Paisagens In\u00fateis<\/a>“, estreado em 2024 no Centro Cultural Vila Flor e Tetro Viriato; para a Companhia Erva Daninha em “Recantos<\/a>“, um site-specific para a abertura do Trengo – Festival de Circo do Porto de 2021, no Jardim do Covelo; com Grandpa\u2019s Lab e Liliana Garcia em \u201cMoura<\/a>\u201d, apresentado na Biblioteca Municipal de Chaves em 2019 ; com Teatro Musgo no espet\u00e1culo \u201cBreu<\/a>\u201d apresentado no TeCA – Teatro Carlos Alberto em 2018, entre outros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Formada na Escola Profissional de Artes e Of\u00edcios do Espet\u00e1culo \u2013 Chapit\u00f4 e na Salto \u2013 International Circus School, a sua pr\u00e1tica coreogr\u00e1fica utiliza uma abordagem transdisciplinar da investiga\u00e7\u00e3o do movimento e da linguagem, defendendo uma vis\u00e3o aberta do que pode ser circo.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
